Dry Proof

Canvas Treatment

Preparation

It is very important to make sure that you apply the dry proof at the correct temperature.
This is ideally above 35º Celsius. The solution should have a fluid texture to it to allow for easy application. If it does not, then it will need to be warmed by placing the bottle in the sun or in a basin of warm water until the appropriate texture is achieved.

Make sure the canvas is free of dust and dirt before application.

Mix the dry proof throughly before application.

Test an inconspicuous area first to confirm compatability with the canvas. Dry proof is not suitable for polyester. Do not use on new canvas that has already been treated with water proofing solutions.

Application

Make sure that your canvas is located in a well ventilated area before applying.

Use a clean paint brush or cloth swab.
If using a spray gun, it must be a low pressure spray gun.

Apply as much dry proof that can be readily absorbed by the canvas. You only need to do this once. DO NOT apply more than one coat or you will create a build up of wax on the canvas. If this occurs, use a stiff brush to brush away the excess wax. There is no need to re-apply dry proof after you have done this.

Cleaning Up

Once the canvas has been treated, leave in a well ventilated area for quicker drying.

Do not expose the canvas to moisture before it is fully dried.

Dispose of all utensiles thoughtfully.
